SNOWBOARDING COACHES At Dave Murray Summer Snowboard Camps we are
proud to employ some of the best coaches in the world.
DAN RAYMOND: Dan is currently
on the Canadian Olympic Halfpipe team, traveling the world
from Turin to Finland to Chile. He’s super stoked
to come home and coach for his seventh summer on the glacier.
Dan is ridiculously good at growing a dazzling array of
moustaches. His sponsors include Option-NFA, DaKine, KUU,
Sombrio, 661 and Zeal optics. Dan lives for stripped polo
shirts and espresso, don’t mess with Dan’s
espresso.
KEVIN HOLE: Kev is the camp
rock. He's been with the camp since the beginning, and
his coaching experience spans over many years. He's
been voted Privates Instructor Of The Year at the Whistler/Blackcomb
Ski and Snowboard School - which has a school of over
1000 instructors - again and again. Kev's extensive
experience and certification makes him one of the most
amazing guys to ride with and learn from. Kev rides
for Nitro Snowboards, and is the designer of the SNOWJAM
quarterpipe series quaterpipes!
STAR QUINN: Consistently
one of the top riders in Whistler. A former member of
the national team with placing in both slope style and
half pipe events. Star is also one of the best female
skaters in the world Competing in Vans triple crown
events such as Slam City Jam. She’s super chill,
so chill in fact that in her spare time she puts out
fires with the Whistler Fire department.
JEVON UPTON: If you have been
lucky enough to have already met Jevon, you'll remember
him for his unbelievable energy and humour. On top of
this Jevon is an amazing rider, and exudes so much personality
that you'll smile every time you see him. Jev has coached
for many years, and has that passion that won't allow
you to ever give up! Jev has his own rail-designing company,
and we were lucky enough to have him design and build
all our rails from D-RAILED Industries.
ANDY CANTELONE: Andy throws
down like nothing else. This is why he is constantly
the places top in all the slope-style events in which
he competes. Andy is one of the most understated low-key
riders in Whistler. He has an incredible disposition
that just makes kids stick to him like a magnet. In
his true low-key style, Andy rides for local snowboard
company, Prior Snowboards.
DYLAN
CUMMING: He is one of the founding members of the
Ice Cobras and North Shore Snowboard Team coach. Dylan
is hooked up with Rossignol snowboards and drives a big
truck.
BRIAN
SMITH : Brian is the head coach of the Calgary
Snowboard Club and super smooth rider. Brian is one of
the top all round snowboard coaches in Canada. He works
with the CSF developing our national coaching courses.
BRANDON
FRAIL: Ninjas, Belt buckles, and snowboarding.
Brandon is the development coach for the British Colombia
half pipe team and North Shore Snowboard Team coach, quality
shredder and all around fun guy.
RICK WUNDERLICH: Rick is
originally from Sweden and moved to Whistler to further
his career as a pro-rider. As a former international
competitor, Rick now coaches full time and in the winter
is one of the top-coaches for the Whistler Valley Snowboard
Club. He rides for Option Snowboards, and throws-down
like nothing else.
You can ride until 3:00 PM
and our coaches are on standby for you from the early
AM. The earlier you are up there the more coaching and
riding you can get.
Instruction is flexible so that you can get as much
or a little as you like - we hope you will take advantage
of the chance. Our staff teach everything from beginner
to extremely high levels. If you want to learn a particular
trick or technique, our coaches can show you how. As
a rule we do not teach inverted aerials but our
coaches will teach you any other trick under the sun.
